My New Business!

So the past couple of weeks has been a very exciting time for me as i have been re-living my love of baking and after doing a stall at quite a big event last weekend i have realised that i now feel strong enough to 'set up on my own'.

So after the stall totally selling out of 120 cupcakes at the event last weekend, i realised just how passionate i am about baking and that i would happily bake for 7 hours a day if i had to! Normal office hours could be happily spent in my kitchen producing cakes and bakes!

My last post indicated that we were under a different name but now because of some personal reasons, i have changed the name and have myself booked into some fairs around Staffordshire & the West Midlands too!

So introducing..
The Baking Dame

Right now, i feel that i can offer for order:
  • Cupcakes in multiples of 6 or 12 with a theme of your choice - boxed
  • (these can be flavoured if desired)
  • Lemon & Lime Drizzle Loaves with seasonal decoration
  • Coffee & walnut cake
  • Cookie Gift Jars filled with Gooey Rolo Cookies (medium or large)
All items can be boxed and gift wrapped with a colour scheme or your choosing!

Please have a look at and Like my Facebook page here.
More images will be added over the next week or so, so keep  an eye out!
All contact details are available on there and any queries - please just ask!

My Suprise Galaxy Win!

So yesterday lunchtime, a giant mysterious box appeared on my doorstep and i honestly hadn't got a clue what it was!
It was massive.. big enough in fact to fit a doggy in..
He looks so small!

Much to my eexcitement i came across this wrapped in bubblewrap.. (bubblewrap being one of the most fun and safe inventions of all time - dont you agree?) Yummy!
Thankyou Tom!

Also enclosed and wrapped in bubblewrap (which is why the box was so big) was this beautiful duck-egg blue woven hanging heart from Next! Its around 30cm in diameter and the simplicity of it really does brighten up the room! It's RRP is £22 so i am thrilled to have won this and what a lovely surprise!

So a giant thankyou to everyone at Galaxy and i'm very much looking forward to my Galaxy hot choccy!
You can enter the monthly draw for yourself here: http://www.hotgalaxywarmheart.com/win-hot-stuff/
This month's prize is a gorgeous picture-frame themed wall hanging so Good Luck everyone!

Cowboy Baby.. Ark #OOTD

Ripped Shoulder Shirt - Ark clothing - £6 (sale)
Super Skinny Jeans - Primark - £8
Boots - Amazon.co.uk - £9.99

This outfit is so simple but so effective! The shirt is a real statement piece and adds an edge to any outfit. I was lucky enough to be sent some Ark clothing vouchers and when i saw this shirt in the sale i bought it straight away! It's going to be great for layering up in Autumn/Winter too so i reckon i'm going to be getting a lot of wear out of it!
Super Skinny jeans from primark are amazing too, they're great quality and are really figure hugging without feeeling uncomfortably tight. They're perfect for me being only 5 foot 3 too as they make you look like your legs go on forever.
I wanted to keep the outfit simple but still bright and when i ordered these gorgeous boots i had no idea they would be this bright - but if anything that's made me love them even more! I had been searching for some good quality ankle boots for months but all the ones on the high street seemed to be all the same really so i took to the online marketplace and came across these beauties! They are so comfy and give you that great walking style & stance like cowboy boots do!
Now stuck in my head - Cowboy by Kid Rock

I just want to add that the customer service team at Ark are amazing and brilliant if you need to contact them. They are so helpful and are a pleasure to be in contact with so if you have any problems or questions, regarding their website or your order don't hesitate to contact them.

So.. What's in the box?

I was really quite impressed that i got a few high-priced items and decent sized samples in my box this month. I always get a bit worried that the sample sizes won't be great but they're proved me wrong once again! I can't wait to use them either!

Sparkly Nails Monochrome Swirl Water Decals!

I was lucky enough to be some gorgeous Water Nail Decals from the amazing SparklyNails.co.uk!
I haven't ever used water decals before but i'm trying to be more experimental with my nail art so i couldn't wait to give these a try!

They have really clear instructions on the back in 5 simple steps:

1. Paint nail and allow to dry
(i used Beautifully Disney in Looking For My Prince)

2. Trim around sticker, remove the clear film and plunge into water for approx 15 seconds
(i put mine into water for around 20-25 seconds as mine weren't ready to peel off)

3. Slide decal off the backing paper and place onto nail
(i chose to put the design on my thumb nail as it's a bigger surface area and it took me a couple of goes to get the hang of it but it's easy once you've done it once)

4. Dab nail/decal with paper towel and allow to dry
(i used normal tissue to dab dry and it worked fine - dab it gently)

5. Seal in with top coat
(i used Rimmel Finishing Touch 3D Plumping Top Coat)

This is the final result

Overall i found them super easy to use and they really do make a statement! They look really professional and i was amazed at how easy they were to apply. I would definitely receommend them! I have been out shopping all day and now - 7 hours later the decal is still on my nail and still looks as perfect as when i put it on. No scratches or chips at all - i'm mega impressed!

The Monochrome Swirl Water Decals can be found here and are priced at only £1.55!
Each pack includes 10 water decals

Impress press-on manicure in So, So Stellar

I've never had a manicure of anything done to my nails before - i know! Shocking!
So when i received these in my goody bag from a recent blog meet up i was quite excited to try them for myself!

There are step-by-step instructions indicated on the back with pictures too which i thought was a really good feature as it made for more accurate instructions and you could physically see how they were meant to be applied.

They come in really cute packaging that looks like a bottle! I thought this was a fab and unique selling point and was definitely a winner with me!

The first instruction was to select the right fit for your nails and lay them out in order. This took me around 15 minutes as they all look so similar and i have small hands so it was even more difficult to find the ones that properly fit! But i managed it eventually!

They were surprisingly easy to apply - a lot easier than i expected - and you simply peel the backing off and press them onto your nail. Quick and easy! Although make sure you put them in the right place first time because they're nion-impossible to try and move!
They looked gorgeous on and so shiny - so much better than i imagined. After 30 minutes you can cut and file them if you wish.

The only problem i had is i wasn't patient enough to just and do nothing so i ended up denting one of the thumb nails - sad face.

When removing them you can dab nail polish remover around the base first or just peel them gently from the side and pull them off. This does sting a little without nail polish remover but it was pretty painless. I though they'd be a lot more difficult to remove.

They leave minimal mess and i just simply put a piece of plain A4 paper underneath my hands whilst removing them and this is all the mess i had at the end! Easy to just tip straight into the bin.

Overall i am very impressed by them. They were so much easier to apply than i was expectind and are really good quality - i got loads of compliments and quesions on where i'd had them done! They really do look professional and i think they'd be great for a special occasion. I will definitely be buying them in the future!
Impress press-on manicure are available from Superdrug at between £5.99 - £7.99
