2015: Here we come!

So this year has been a bit of a shambles, a bit of a break and a lot of time to think!
2015 will be the year of doing!

I think since me and the boyfriend got together in 2010 everything had been all go with work, quite stressful and very busy! This year we got to chill out a bit more, enjoy each other's company and think about the future..
I also got to experience some fantastic things!
My best friend got married! I got to go to the Harry potter Studio Tour! I saw the Coca Cola lorry for the first time!

But starting in January we will be implementing some goals for this year, some bigger than others, but ones we are both comfortable with and we can't wait to get started!

  • Get a New Job
  • Start Driving Lessons again
  • Get a Car
  • Think about Saving up to Move house
  • Transform our Spare Room
  • Travel to America
  • Travel to Ireland
  • Go to London as a 'tourist'

Other than these things though I also already have some great things to look forward to over the next year!
I'm seeing ACDC at Wembley in July!!
I'll be celebrating 5 Years with the boyfriend
My brother is getting Married too!

All I Want For Christmas with M&Co

This post is my entry to the M&Co Christmas Wishlist 'All I Want for Christmas' competition to win £100 credit to spend on the online store! Which is absolutely amazing - Thankyou M&Co for this amazing chance!

So here is my wishlist (i'm hoping Santa can read my blog too!) M&Co do some truly gorgeous and beautiful things so it was tough narrowing down but I'd be truly ecstatic to find these under my tree on December 25th!

(£4)
These 'Love Heart Bed Socks' are perfect for snuggling down to sleep whilst Santa does his yearly round! They'll keep my toes snuggly all through the night and Christmas morning too! My tootsies need to stay warm this winter!!

(£16.80)
These 'Red Check Pyjamas' are the perfect accompaniment to the above and will keep me rocking the season's Tartan Trend all through the night! They rival the classic ones that Geraldine models in the Vicar Of Dibley too! That's my Christmas dream so I'm hoping it'll be made a reality!

(£18)
What can beat a pair of 'Black Leather Gloves'? They ooze style and sophistication and will go with everything whilst all the while keeping my fingers nice and toasty in the icy winter weather! *Please Santa - I've been good this year!*

(£14)
This beautiful 'Santa Sleigh Jumper' is super cute and really fun! It'll go with everything from jeans to layered over that party dress! I won't look good if i'm shivering with cold! I've picked this one out due to the monochrome tones and I need this as it will match Everything in my wardrobe! No more worrying what to wear this winter!

(£34.50)
Speaking of that party dress.. this one is perfect! The 'Red Sateen Lace Trim Dress' gives off  a slightly sexy but sophisticated vibe and i'd be the talk of the party in this little number! It's beautiful colour finish is really festive and something I'd love to be rocking New Years Eve! I promise i'll be good all of 2015 too!!

Christmas Is Coming - Celebrating views

So this year will be the first Christmas that I haven't spent at my parents so things are going to be a lot different.. Traditions that won't be there and just little things that just seem to make it a little more special. But that isn't going to ruin Christmas for me! Just because things will be different it doesn't mean that it will be any less fun or festive and change can be good sometimes - so who knows what will happen?

Christmas is actually quite strange for me and my boyfriend as a couple for this reason;
He Never celebrated Christmas growing up!
I've got to be honest, when he first told me I thought he was joking!.. turns out he wasn't. For the past 4 years he has been really understanding and probably a little overwhelmed as me and my family all get together and do Christmas quite big - so this year it will just be me and him on Christmas morning and we intend to make our own unique traditions if possible. I think sometimes I struggle to remember that he has never really celebrated it as it has always been such a big part of my year but that doesn't mean that he will never celebrate it or that it can't be different as the years go on, it just means we probably won't hit the festive traditions as hard as others!

Stocking Fillers
Every other year it has been the tradition that my mum does a stocking for me full of little treats and goodies as a surprise when I wake up and I always do one for my mum & dad too as it's just nostalgic and a fun thing to do on Christmas morning where of course this year, that won't be happening. I'm unsure if me and my boyfriend will do stockings but we may decide to as it's only a quick job really and something a little extra - things like sweets/chocolate, little shampoo/conditioner, jewellery that sort of thing - I may even still do one for my mum & dad but i'll have to gift them a few days before and hope my mum can refrain from taking a look!

Tree and Decorations
This is never a fun subject as last time the boyfriend tried to help put the tree up at my parents he managed to cut his hand open! (still unsure as to how..) so this will be my main responsibility but we've decided to choose the colour scheme together and try to make it a bit more fun. We've chosen blue and white and for the first time ever I will be having a White Christmas Tree as we've always had a 'natural looking one' as a family and it will be a modern twist. My mum will be making us a ribbon Christmas wreath for the door and i'm still trying to decide on windowsill decorations - but I guess we'll build up a collection like everyone does after a few years anyway so it will be easier to decide then. I'm definitely hoping to get a snowglobe and also some artificial snow too.

Christmas TV and Movies
We actually went out yesterday and bought 5 dvds for the lead up and i'm really looking forward to watching them! We bought;
Elf, Miracle on 34th Street, Father Christmas, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and The Grinch!
The boyfriend loves the Grinch film so we'll probably watch that on Christmas Eve along with my own tradition of watching Love Actually before I go to bed! I can't help it, I just love that film!
As for the TV part we'll be watching The Snowman Christmas morning after opening one present each and eating a yummy fruity and sweet pancake breakfast! I think then the plan is to just shove on UK GOLD and let the old comedies roll!

Presents
Lastly I get onto the subject of present buying.. this is always usually my doing! I tend t make a list of ideas to buy people, consult the boyfriend on if he agrees and then spend time searching for the best deals - which are usually online. It sure beats being squished n a shopping queue though! My boyfriend reckons that presents should be about the kids really so we should focus on spending more on them and if he had his way I reckon us adults would end up having nothing at all!
But we've always been quite a close knit family in terms of this and I love to surprise everyone with gifts even if it's something small - My mum and sister love presents too so how on earth can I deny them of that??!

We have successfully purchased all the presents now though and haven't spent as much as we thought so that's a bonus which means we can enjoy treating ourselves a little bit with a meal out with our friends.
Overall I think we have a good balance and we do have to compromise but I'm hoping that this Christmas we can have a good time our own way and make it work to be more festive and we can build on it as the years roll on!
Happy Advent Everyone!
Only 15 days to go!

Let Our Eyes Show The Fire In Our Hearts Tonight

Biker Jacket - Peacocks
Skinny Jeans - Topshop
Boots - T K Maxx
Beanie - Topshop

This newly purchased Glitter jumper has become a major addition to my wardrobe and I've been wearing it so often already that I know it'll get me through the winter! It's super cosy and great for layering, definitely a talking point too! I'm loving the glitter pieces that have stormed the shops this Autumn and I can't wait to buy more! I'm totally in love with this piece!
Unfortunately it's been absolutely freezing this week so i've been making the most of layering with my biker jacket, skinny jeans and my favourite cosy boots.
The glitter makes this outfit stand out which I love, it's great when one piece really makes an outfit!
Happy Tuesday everyone! Enjoy the week ahead!

My Birthday Wishlist!

My 22nd birthday is now looming and on Thursday I will be considered yet another year older! But I know how young I still am at heart; my love of retro gaming, cartoons and Disney will tell anyone that!
Although I haven't got anything big planned i'm looking forward to indulging in a little bit of retail therapy and spending a bit more than I usually would!
So these are a few of the things I've got my eye on..

Hallmark Hotel Gloucester - Spa Day & Afternoon Tea

Back in April for Mother's Day, I treated my mum with a voucher from Virgin Experience Days for a Spa Day & Afternoon Tea at one of 5 locations.

It was a super easy experience to buy and then we rang the hotel and they just told us to turn up when we liked!
So on Thursday 16th October, we ventured out and set off for an adventure and headed to the  Hallmark Hotel in Gloucester..

From the outside the hotel looked picturesque and spacious, it was in the middle of the countryside too so placed in a lovely setting - in the Summer I imagine the scenery is beautiful!
When inside we headed straight for the spa and pool area, the staff were really friendly and professional, all dressed up too..

The spa area was spacious and very sophisticated, it has a very lovely feel to it. The changing rooms very also very large and the decor was lovely! I loved the giant clock and the lockers looked fresh and new.

The pool area itself was gorgeous but unfortunately I obviously couldn't take any pictures in there!
They has a steam room and sauna available to use and supplied free cups of water from a machine in the corner. The pool area was a large oval with wooden bridges where you were able to cross over, in the centre was a bubble pool which was filled with hot water, which the main pool surrounded in an orbit. There were also tables, chairs and sun loungers around the edges of the room and two smaller massage pools branching off to the sides.
The hairdryers in the changing rooms were Remington branded and free to use! That was definitely a bonus and the shower room had separate cubicles with doors to respect your privacy, I could definitely say that I could get used to going there on a regular basis!

After we'd spent a good few hours in the pool area, bubble pool and in both the sauna and steam room we were starting to feel a bit peckish! It felt wonderfully relaxing and we were totally at our lesisure!
So we changed clothes and headed to the lovely cafe area for our Afternoon Tea..

It was only a 5 minute wait for our Pot of Tea and large cup of Coffee to arrive at the table followed swiftly by a lovely array of finger sandwiches and mini desserts! The service was friendly, professional and lovely, we thoroughly felt as if we were being treated!

We were surround by delicious finger sandwiches of Smoked Salmon, Cucumber, Egg and Fresh Ham - the Salmon was divine! The cakes included were; Shortbread biscuit rounds, Mini Black Forest Gateaus, Chocolate Brownies and or course Scones with Cream & Jam!

This was all that remained..

Mum: Necklace,  Dress.
Me: Bag, local market. Dress, River Island. Boots, H&M

After eating we felt full in a good way and proceeded to relax and chat on the softer sofas in the corner of the cafe. We has a nosy around the hotel inside and out to explore a little before calling our taxi to whisk us back through the beautiful countryside to the train station. I think we would definitely come again, the main restaurant looks like it would be lovely to have a meal in and we would love to go back next year for an overnight stay! I'd definitely also invite along my sister and sister-in-law as I think they'd love it as much as we did, it was a welcome treat for this time of year.

Thankyou Hallmark Hotels and Virgin Experience Days for a perfect Mother / Daughter day!
