Sunday Funday!

Denim Dungarees
Grey Crop Tee
Pink Beanie
All Primark

So today I woke up in an unbelievably happy mood and just felt like being a big kid.. Complete with neon pink hat, dungarees, bare-feet and a bubble wand!
I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday and the patches of sunshine we seem to be getting..
This outfit seems to be entirely from Primark without my realising but hey-ho! It's very refreshing to sometimes have a big kid day, I find that finishing it off with a bag of M&Ms and a Disney film makes it even more amazing!
Happy Sunday!

The Wanderlust Tag

I was tagged by Tink Jayne to do this.. and i'm very excited to! I love reading all about her travels and lifestyle on her blog and i'd definitely recommend you go take a look for yourself!
I was so touched to see that she'd tagged me to do this so a Big Thankyou!! Check out her Wanderlust Tag here.
I have recently been thinking about fulfilling my dreams of travelling so this tag definitely got my mind whirring and me more excited about the future of my travel too! There's so many places that i'd love to go and see and this has definitely given me even more inspiration and a lot more Lust for it!

1. Your most treasured passport stamp?
This has to be Kenya. Until then I had visited Tunisia, Turkey, Greece, Dom-Rep and Spain and I loved them all but Kenya was just so breathtaking and my first real insight into the 'wonders of the world' if you like. The Safari we went on was just magical; staying in cabins, seeing animals in their natural habitat and the locals doing traditional dance. Although we stayed at a 5* hotel it was definitely a breakthrough point for me when I realised I just needed to see what else is out there and my travelling dreams really spiraled from there!

2. Can you recite your passport # from memory if asked?
That would be a no.. But i'm hoping when I do begin to plan my travels that I will be forced to look at my passport a lot more!

3. Preferred method of travel: Planes,Trains or Automobiles?
This is a bit of a toughie.. I love watching the views out the windows of planes but it is difficult for me to fully relax. But one of my dreams is to do a road trip down Route 66 so automobiles would probably be the preferred option for most places as they are the most convenient and you can be free to explore as you wish!

4. Top 3 travel items?
A camera, diary/notebook and a backpack!

5. Hostel of Hotel?
As I have never actually stayed in a hostel at this point I would have to say hotel but I am all for change and would be happy to explore different hostels as a cheaper alternative and it's also (so i've heard) a great way to meet fellow travellers and create new adventures! But then again when it comes to romantic breaks or a relaxing holiday, I would have to opt for a bit of luxury every time!

6. Are you a repeat visitor or do you explore new places?
I love having the sense that you know a place that you are happy to go back to again and again, where they have your trust and confidence and you can fully relax. But I really do want to explore the world as much as possible, so i've got a feeling in future there may be a lot more of visiting new places to look forward to!

7. Do you read up on your destination (culture, history, safety) or do you wing it?
With package holidays I do tend to research local trips and activities we might like to try but nothing too extensive, as I love the feeling of discovery and thrill of experiencing something unexpected and not as part of a plan. However I have a feeling on our first 'adventure' trip I may research a little more extensively as although I am excited I am also a little apprehensive but i'm sure i'll love it and the amount of research can drop as I will be too busy having fun

8. Favourite travel website?
I have recently been introduced to amusingplanet.com and it is a fab place for gathering inspirtaion or just for reading up on some history! It really makes you realise that the best places and things to see are usually off the beaten track. I also always use TripAdvisor for reviews of everything (hotels, trips, feedback) in this country or abroad! It is full of feedback from real people and you can also add your own opinions too

9. Where would you recommend a friend to visit? Name the city and why.
Mombassa in Kenya. There is so much contrast in the city and you see people from all walks of life. There are locals selling handmade wares on the streets, small cafes to taste the country's delicacies, Monkeys in the trees above you and the hustle and bustle of the everyday workers. It is a fun and lively place, there are some shocking realities of some of the less-fortunate population living in open shacks on the sides of main roads and selling fruit but it definitely makes you realise your place and how lucky we are. It is an amazing adventurous place and if you visit Kenya I would definitely recommend checking it out!

10. You're leaving tomorrow, money is no option, where are you going?
USA. Route 66, Vegas, Chicago.. the whole sha-bang! Road trip, watching WWE wrestling live and shopping far too much in New York!

I think everyone should answer these questions! It is such a fun tag and it really does get you thinking and get your adventurous head on!

Thrifting: Recent Buys

I've really been loving thrifting recently.
I've always had an eye for a bargain and i think you can really define your style when you're finding unique pieces and working them into your wardrobe.
It's also a great way to try new things without worrying too much about the price tag!

  • The gorgeous teal green blouse i found was only £2 and as soon as i saw it i knew i needed to have it! A perfect fit, beautiful colour and a bargain price.. what more can you ask for? I wore it out to the 'brother-in-law's' 40th birthday outing last night and i felt amazing in it. Mission accomplished!

  • The H&M cardigan i found on a £1 rail and i thought it'd just be perfect for throwing in my bag on sunny days incase it gets chilly later on and it doesn't take up much room at all. When i got home i also realised this is the first cardigan i own!

  • The white and blue checked dungarees are super comfy and perfect to throw on when you don't know what to wear! Crop top, vest or tee or even layered over a jumper, they are great for summer and are cotton so keep you cool too. A bargain at only £2.50!

  • I picked up the River Island structured skirt a couple of weeks back for £3.99 ad when i tried it on in the changing rooms it fit like a dream! What i love is that i can put so many other items with this and dress it either up or down, i've already worn it 3 times as it's super-flattering.

  • The pastel gingham halter top is one i picked up from yet another £1 rail but unfortunately the shop didn't have a changing rooms.. i think it's a beautiful top but it doesn't quite fit me properly so i think i will sell it on: look out for it on my Depop!

  • The Famous Stars and Straps had me hooked from the first sight on it, i think i literally snatched it off the rail! I love the brand So Much (who wouldn't love a brand started by Travis Barker - Blink 182?) and have always wanted a tee from them but they retail at £30 so i've never really seemed to find the time to buy one.. i'm so happy i found this though, it's a brilliantly bright tee perfect for any casual day.

Fairytale Tag

I don't usually do tags on the blog but as soon as I came across this one on Tink Jayne I knew that I needed to! I'm a giant Disney and storybook lover so I thought this one just fitted me perfectly and that it would be fun to do something a little different. There are a few that I haven't heard of such as Star Money but it might be fun to seek them out now I do know about them!
I Hope You Enjoy It!

Snow White - Do you consider yourself beautiful?
Not beautiful, no. I love to share my style and take pictures of outfits I love to share but I have never looked in the mirror with the thoughts that I look perfectly beautiful. Some days I love the way I look and feel good about myself but I also have down days where i dislike things just like everyone does (that's where you bring out the Ben&Jerrys!)

Sleeping Beauty - How many hours of sleep do you get each night?
I don't have a set number of hours that I sleep, it all depends on what I have been doing that day and also what I have planned for the next. I think that I usually get the full 8 hours that are recommended on average but there are those days that I feel that I can just about survive on 3 hours!

Cinderella - Do you have a curfew?
Far gone are the days of a curfew.. although when I was a teenager I never really enjoyed hanging about with friends outside after dark as a rule. I enjoy going out sometimes with friends but it is safe to say i'm definitely a house bug that would rather get in early and preoccupy myself inside.

Rapunzel - Do you love being outside?
I love nature and walking and all of that! I would happily live in the countryside and go for long walks everyday and own lots of animals! (i'm aware I sound a bit crazy!) But being outside in wide open spaces just makes me feel alive and free and you can really see the beauty of what's around you.
Although I do love my home comforts too so i'd definitely need some kind of electricity!

Red Riding Hood - Do you trust strangers easily?
Not as a rule. I'm a big believer of giving people a fair chance and would never push someone just because I didn't know them but I do like to get to know the person underneath. I would never trust someone as a first instinct.

The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids - Are you easy to fool?
I don't think so, I am a very good judge of character and this means that I can usually tell when someone is pretending to be someone they're not. I will give people a chance but I would say it is quite difficult to fool me, i'm definitely not as naive as when I was younger.

Beauty and the Beast - What makes someone beautiful in your eyes?
I definitely live by the motto 'It's what's on the inside that counts' - heck I even have a tee that says it!
A personality, innocence and love makes someone beautiful in my eyes. The ability to trust and learn and never give up is all part of a person along with their emotions. I don't think that looks ever come into my definition of Beautiful.

The Little Mermaid - What would you sacrifice for love?
Let's see.. I am longing to have a tattoo that has the words: 'Addicted To Love'.. I would happily give up junk food, a big dream house, some creature comforts.. but I don't think I could ever give up music or fashion as they inspire me to be who I am
The Frog King - What do you find disgusting?
Lying, Cheating, Bragging.. Captain Morgan's Rum *eurgh!*
Jack and the Beanstalk - What plants do you have?
I have a strawberry plant that I love having my yearly few fresh strawberries off every year! It is my one and only plant and i'm pretty sure I should name it soon.. it's becoming a part of the family!
Puss In Boots - Do you have any pets? If not, do you want any?
I have a King Charles Cavalier named Stig that I sort-of adopted when I got with my boyfriend. But he's such a cutie and we love him to bits as he's got so much character! We would love a brown mouse too and a chameleon at some point as well as some other dogs when we're older
Bluebeard - What is your weak point?
Definitely will power when I have a 'can't be bothered/don't care' day. If I have a biscuit with my tea.. it really means i'll eat the entire packet! Same principle goes with bags of doughnuts and Ben & Jerrys Phish Food ice cream..
Pinocchio - What is your biggest wish?
I would love to pack my bags, jet off to somewhere off the beaten track and explore the world a little with my boyfriend visiting all the countries we want to see.. but also to have the money to stay in some nice hotels some of the time. I would love to do this more than anything before we properly settle down.
My other biggest wish is for my mum & dad to fulfill all of their dreams too
Peter Pan - What is your mental age?
I'd say 50% off the time it's or my 21 year-old self and the other 50% of the time it's about 8.. I love having a laugh and joke and hanging out with a group of lads and being ever-so-slightly immature! But other days I can be very organised, focused with money and thinking about what I want to do with the rest of my life.. before i decide we're going to Laser Quest for my next birthday!
The Star Money - What is your most valuable possession?
My most expensive possession would be my Michael Kors watch which was a 21st present from my parents.. but I think the one that I treasure most is my grandad's watch as it is an old-style pocket watch in silver which just reminds me of my Irish heritage
Golden Mary and Pitch Mary - Are you a hard worker or a lazy one?
When I am focused and there is a goal to achieve I will put my heart and soul into making it happen! Whether it is in my spare time or in an office task I will ensure it is done to the best of my ability.. but everyone has lazy days too!
The Princess and the Pea - Are you sensitive?
Yes. Although a lot of the time I don't show it and at times I can be quite good at hiding it when i feel I need to, I really am sensitive underneath. I can stupidly over-think little things and let things get to me that I shouldn't
The Worn Out Dancing Shoes - Do you like parties?
I do enjoy them but I have never been a big drinker.. i'm the one taking all the embarrassing photos for the memory bank! I love dancing though and could be the last one of the dance floor!
The Emperor's New Clothes - Do you care a lot about your clothing?
Although I tend to dress very casually a lot of the time in converse and denim I absolutely Love my clothes and styling outfits. I think about it a lot of the time but in some cases I don'y have a place to wear some outfits I come up with in my head. I love finding bargains and going shopping!
The Brave Little Sailor - Do you consider yourself brave?
Yes actually I think I would. I never would have answered this question with this answer a few years ago but I have been through some quite difficult times and I believe I got through them in the best way possible. I believe that I could stay calm in a crisis and deal with things in the way of bravery in the future too

Festival Ready!

Lime Green Lace Crop - Jones + Jones
Studded Levi Shorts - The Ragged Priest
Fencenet Tights - Spoiled Brat
Union Jack Converse - Foot Asylum

This stunning lime green crop top is from Jones + Jones. As soon as I saw it I just had to have it! It has the most beautiful lace texture and is fitted in a way which makes it flattering around the back and shoulders, but not too tight around the middle. It is a little shorter than I expected but with my Ragged Priest studded shorts I think it looks pretty darn awesome! I thought the fence-net tights added more of a grungy edge and I love them so much!
I'm definitely ready to be rocking out this summer!
