Hotel Chocolat You Crack Me Up Extra Thick Easter Egg: Review

"An irrepressibly upbeat egg bursting with smiley face pralines and happy chicks"

I was really excited to be contacted by Hotel Chocolat and asked to try out something in their Easter range. It took me a while to decide but I just couldn't get the cuteness of this egg out of my head! A milk and white chocolate swirled Extra Thick Egg filled with chocolate praline treats.. and all in a gorgeous packaging - what more could you ask for??

At first you're greeted by a golden egg that you think is just like any other egg.. until you go to take it out of the box..
It's actually separately wrapped in 2 halves! I think this is a great idea as I for one have real trouble trying to wrap half an egg back up in it's foil when I've eaten a bit of it and want to save some for later.. it just usually ends up with a big bit of chocolate showing and lots of frustration!
The chocolate selection is shown on an egg shaped piece of paper which fits perfectly between both halves and I think this is so unique and novelty it's worth splashing out a little bit more - Easter only comes around once a year after all!
On unwrapping the paper this yummy sight awaits you and you won't know which one to pick first!
They separate the chocolates so half the selection is in one side and half is in the other which means if you want to try one of each you'll have to open both sides!
The Selection:
Milk Chocolate Chick
White Soldiers
Smooth Caramel Bow Tie Bunny
Chocolate Brownie
Crunchy Praline
Milk Praline Fried Egg

So my overall opinion is that Hotel Chocolat really come up with unique concepts and fun ideas for special occasions. At £28, this egg is more on the expensive side but I think it would be a great egg for sharing with the family whilst watching an Easter film and making your Easter family time that little bit more special. It would maybe be something that I would splash out on to treat my niece and nephews or maybe as a little treat for myself when I get home from a hectic day - spent with my family anyway! I would definitely recommend this for chocolate lovers anywhere and I think whatever you're looking for, you're sure to find something for you at Hotel Chocolat
(right now they're also giving away a free Easter gift with every purchase over £35!)

I Like Where We Are

Crop Jumper - New Look
*Owl Print Chiffon Shirt - c/o (free trial) OASAP.com
Super Skinny Jeans - Primark
Union Jack Converse - Foot Asylum

Just a quick and easy outfit today for doing glamorous food shopping and other bits and bobs. This chiffon owl shirt from OASAP really makes a statement and adds something a little different to an otherwise plain outfit. The owl print is super cute and with the eyes coloured a bright yellow, it really plays up the monochrome to make it a more interesting piece. I love that the cut of the shirt is shorter than normal which makes it great for Spring/Summer and it also makes it super unique and mega comfy too as it's not too fitted.
To jazz it up a bit and as it's colder today I added this New Look crop jumper. It's mega comfy with a scruffy eyelash texture which makes it really cosy. Add my trusty super skinny Primark jeans and Converse and I'm ready to roll.

Pretty Vacant

Sex Pistols Draven Slip Ons - Interpunk
Wet Look Skater Skirt - ARK Clothing
Denim Vest - ARK Clothing
Harry Potter Tour Tshirt - Warner Bros Studio Tour

These Sex Pistols Slip Ons are the best shoes in my life right now. In my room at my parents house right now, on the wall is a poster with these exact shoes on, that was ripped out of Kerrang! Magazine when I was 13 years old.. that is why when I saw them I just had to buy them! Not many shoes can be found after 8 years of lusting over them.. From finding these, I also found an awesome american music merchandise & clothing website called Interpunk they have loads of awesome stuff so definitely check them out!
The denim vest is probably one of the best purchases I have ever made as it goes with almost everything and is great for layering up.
With the days being filled with gorgeous sunshine last week I couldn't not make the most of it and rock an edgy punk look. Hope everyone's enjoying their Friday!

Always Be A Unicorn

Cotton Shirt: H&M *sale*
Leather Shorts: Glamorous
Unicorn Tee: Ebay -link-
Converse: Foot Asylum
It's definitely been feeling more like spring over the past week so it was a great excuse to get some wear out of these high-waist leather shorts! I picked these up at a local bargain store and they are really cool to wear and mega comfy too. The tee is definitely one of my new favourites, I picked it up on ebay a few weeks ago and have been wearing it a lot, it's just perfect to shove on with anything and everything!
Paired with my trusty Converse and this white cotton shirt i picked up in the H&M sale, i'm ready to roll and make the most of the sunshine!

February Wishlist: Other Bits & Bobs!

So as my Clothes and Shoes wishlist was posted yesterday, I noticed that there were quite a few accessories and other little bits and bobs that i'm really wanting this month so thought that I would do another wishlist to include these too.

I'm loving clutch bags at the minute and I also love just how simple the design is. The structure is beautiful and so is the colour, perfect for a night out with friends or in the day with a jeans and heels combo

Yoshi Snapback - Amazon
I've always been a massive Mario fan since i started playing the NES with my brother when i was younger and i love Yoshi even more so when i saw this i absolutely loved it! Think i might have to invest in one to wear to the park now it's warmer..

I'd never heard of these guys until back in October i lived one of my teenage dreams by seeing Bowling For Soup live in Birmingham! They are apparently really big in the USA and are the same pop-punk with a bit of hilarity that makes bowling for soup awesome so definitely one to check out if you like that sort of cheeky-pop punk style of tunes!

MAC Lipstick in Heroine - MAC Cosmetics
I've been thinking about investing in a decent lipstick for some time and i've decided that I want one in a darkish purple shade. This is the best i've found that fits my wishes in terms of the shade and quality and with so many good reviews behind their lipsticks I think it's about time that i invested in one!

February Wishlist: Clothing & Shoes

I know this is a little late coming as we're now halfway through the month but with all the new spring collections and pieces makign an entrance into shops right now it took me a while to decide on my favourites!
I'll be doing another hopefully tomorrow with Accessories and other bits and bobs!

Acid Wash Dolphin Shorts - Forever21
I love these as they'd be so simple to wear! Chuck on a vest, tee or shirt.. i think they could be mixed and matched with so many pieces that they're definitely a staple for Spring and at such a bargain price too!

Cream Tartan Roll Sleeve Shirt Playsuit - River Island
This is so laidback and perfect for days when you just want to throw something on that's simple but stylish. This would look perfect with either ankle boots or converse with a hoodie or leather jacket layered over. Perfect for a weekend look or a busy shopping trip!

Converse All Star Simpson Bartman - Schuh
I loved watching The Simpsons cartoons as i was growing up and i remember Bartman being in one episode and thinking he was absolutely awesome! I even had the Bartman soundtrack on cd single.. So when i saw these on the Schuh website i knew at some point i needed to have them!

Mango Leather Look Mix Jean - Asos
I've been on the lookout for some new leather-look trousers for months but i found it difficult to get the right fit and the only thing i don't like is how hot you feel whilst wearing them! I saw them and fell in love.. especially because of how cheap they are in the Asos sale! They look the perfect mix of comfy and cool and perfect for day or night

Petite Exclusive Swing Cami - Asos
I've also been on the lookout for a crop cami top to wear with high-waisted jeans and shorts and that has a slightly 'flowy' look about it and this one seems to tick all the boxes along with an amazing price tag. Definitely a spring/summer basic sorted.

Rita Trousers - Monki
These are something that i would Never usually go for but something about them justs struck me. They look so comfy and perfect for a laidback sunday look with just a tshirt and a comfy pair or trainers. They're labelled as a 'Daytime Pyjama Pant' and the bright turquoise pattern makes them all the more lust-worthy!

Babycham Leopard Print Heels - T K Maxx
Leopard print is usually something i stay away from but recently I've just felt a little more adventurous and am so in love with these! I love the platform heel, the bow and stud detailing and the open-sided nature too. I am just completely sold on these and think they'd look great to brighten up an otherwise simple skinny jeans and vest combo

Yumi Black Panther Print Trousers - T K Maxx
These were one of those pieces that when you see something you feel like you need them in your life.. I haven't bought them yet but i really do want them so much! I think the print is really cute and they do look quite sophisticated, they'd be great for going out for lunch or if you're going to be travelling all day

Lace Up Embellished Vinyl Leggings - ROMWE
These would definitely be 'going out' leggings! Perfect for when i go to the local rock club with my friends and for pairing with a simple black tee and ankle boots. They make a real statement and definitely take me back to what i loved when i was 13, you could even layer fishnets underneath if you felt a bit bare-legged!

'Bebo' Black Faux Leather Platform Boots - T K Maxx
Finally, i've had my eye on these for a few weeks now and am still trying to decide how much i need them.. They just seem a really simple boot that makes  a bit of an impact and that can be worn with almost anything; dresses, skirts, shorts, jeans.. I love the zip-up front detailing and the buckle that makes them a little school-girl-esque in a bit of a St Trinian's sense!

Better Be.. Slytherin!

Slytherin Vest - Harry Potter Studio Tour (haul here)
Denim Shorts - Ragged Priest, Ebay
Leather Jacket - Primark
Black Tights - Primark
Cowboy Boots - Oasis Market, Birmingham

My head's still whirring a little from actually going to the Harry Potter Studio Tour and drinking out of my Marauder's Map mug is still feeling amazingly magical and fun!
Just a basic, comfy outfit for running a few errands and collecting some parcels. My trusty cowboy boots still remain my favourite shoes. a great buy from the Oasis market 3 years ago in the sale for £50 and i vaguely remember spending around 90 minutes in there after work with a slightly impatient boyfriend.. but they're so comfy and they make me feel like a cowboy when i walk with the way you have to sort of stride.
The adding these gorgeous pair of Ragged Priest shorts to my collection was totally by chance that i found an ending soon ebay auction and all of a sudden they were mine, with a horrendously cheap price tag! I definitely plan on adding more Ragged Priest items to my wardrobe! Sort of regretting not adding any to my basket at Clothes Show Live.. Check them out!
